Products Overview
Products is where you list physical and digital products on your website. Products live in the Commerce section of your website.
Physical products are the products that you box and ship to customers.
Digital products (pdf books, videos, music) are delivered to your customers electronically. After your customer makes a purchase they will receive an email with a secure link to download your digital product.
Accessing Products
To access your products click on MENU and select PRODUCTS from the dropdown.
Product Dashboard
The product dashboard is where you can keep your product listings organized.
You can sort products by All Products, Draft Products (products not published), Published Products (products that are published live) or Sold Out Products.
You can organize products into Categories. Categories are a great tool to keep products organized in your website.
You can create a new product category by dragging the DRAG TO ADD CATEGORY button under the Product Categories tab.
Product Ordering
The product order will affect the display on your website. Products appear left to right on your website in correlation with the top down order below. The top most product will be first on the left when viewing your website. To move a product click and drag on the COMPASS tool and move the listing up or down in the list.
Product Categories
DRAG the add category button to add a category. Then give it a name.
DRAG into an existing category to add a secondary category.
Creating a new Product
Select the category on the left hand side for which you would like to add products too. You can create a new category by clicking the EDIT button near the word Categories.
To create a new product select NEW PRODUCT.
To edit a product select EDIT on the product listing.
To preview a product select PREVIEW on the product listing.
To remove a product select REMOVE on the product listing.
Previously published products will require you to UNPUBLISH them before you can make changes. This will remove the product from your website and ensure customers can’t purchase a product being edited.
Product Info
Input the information for your product.
Select a product type
Choose a digital or physical product.
Select a Master Category
This is the main category for your product. You can add a product in additional categories in the next step.
Give your product a name
This is the main category for your product. You can add a product in additional categories in the next step.
Price
This is the price of your product.
Quantity in Stock
You will receive an alert you when your stock is low. It will also place a single product on hand so that two customers can’t purchase the same product.
Product Weight
Used in calculating shipping.
SKU
This is your internal tracking number.
Filter Categories
Choose top level and filter Categories.
Product Description
Enter your product description.
Keyword Tags
Enter Keyword Tags and separate them by a comma. Keywords are used for websites using search.
Product Images
Click the ADD OR UPLOAD IMAGES button to add images for your product.
Add images from the media selector or upload files from your computer.
Access images from your media bins if you organized them. See the knowledge base article on implementing Media Bins for more information.
Arrange images by moving them up or down with the COMPASS tool. The image at the top will be the first image or key image displayed. Click the EDIT button to edit the images. Click REMOVE to delete the image.
Use Aviary image editor to edit your images.
Product Preview
Preview your product to make sure your content is correct. Proofread. Then hit PUBLISH PRODUCT when you are finished. Please note that preview may not always reflect the live view.
