Galleries & Slideshows Overview

Galleries and Slideshows are where you can create unique image layouts for your pages. Galleries and slideshows are both managed here and then added to your pages as components. You can have more than one gallery or slideshow on a page. You can also add captions to galleries and call-to-actions on slideshows.

From the Menu click on Image Galleries or Slideshows.

To access image galleries click the Image Galleries button.

To access slides click the Slideshows button.

Image Galleries

Homescreen

The image gallery home screen is where you will manage all of your galleries.

Image Gallery States

Galleries will go through several published states while you work on them.


A Published gallery is the most current version of the gallery.

A Draft gallery has not been published.

A Changed gallery has not been published, but indicates changes are made.

Gallery Bar

Each Gallery has a gallery bar which includes a thumbnail image of an image within the gallery and a layout indicator designating your gallery type: Layout Grid or Standard Grid.

Use the compass tool to move galleries up or down in the list to keep them organized.

Click Settings to change the settings of a gallery.

Click Layout to change the settings of a gallery.

Click Preview to preview the gallery.

Click Remove to delete the gallery.

Anatomy of a Gallery

A Gallery is made up of two parts, Settings and Layout, and then an associated linked page. A Gallery must be added to a Page in order for it to appear on your website or in Preview view.

Gallery Linked Page

Once a gallery component is added to a page it will become a Linked Page.

In Galleries you can access the Linked Page by clicking the icon in the main gallery navigation.

From the Page, Click on the Pencil edit button from the component toolbar. And then the Edit Gallery Layout button.

Layout Grids

A Standard Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced rows. This type of grid should be used for galleries with images that are the same size or aspect ratio.

A Layout Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced columns. This type of grid will give you the option for same sized images or varying sized images.

Editing Galleries

Made Daily allows you to create dynamic gallery layouts quickly. Vary the number of images, the size of the images and even crop or edit your images.

Create a New Gallery

To create a new gallery click on the New Image Gallery. Then complete the Gallery Settings and then the Gallery layout.

Gallery Settings

Set up how you would like your gallery to appear. These settings will reflect how the component appears in your page. Then under Layout, add and edit images as needed.

Title

Add the name of your gallery.

Description

Add the description your gallery. This won’t be shown.

On Click

Choose a mouse action for your gallery, you can either Zoom Image, make it appear larger when clicked or Link to a Page.

Pager Type

The pager type is the interface used to advance your gallery images. The interface can be dots, thumbnail images, or text links.

Layout

Choose the gallery layout a Standard Grid or Layout Grid.

A Standard Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced rows. This type of grid should be used for galleries with images that are the same size or aspect ratio.

A Layout Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced columns. This type of grid will give you the option for same sized images or varying sized images.

Force Aspect Ratio

When set to yes, the images will maintain the specified aspect ratio.

Aspect Ratio

Choose the aspect ratio that best fits your images. Square Image = 1:1, Landscape Image = 4:3,  Portrait = 3:4,  Video Image = 16:9, or Custom.

Default Grid

Choose the number of images you would like to appear in a row. This is the default setting. The number of images across will vary based on the device.

Add or Upload an Image

Click on the add or upload new images button. Then choose the images from the media selector or click the Upload files button to add new images.

Gallery Images

Click on an image in Layout to activate the gallery toolbar.

Info (i) icon

Click the info icon to add story captions. Enter the caption for the image. The caption can be styled in your stylesheet in Styles. In the Advanced options you can also set a custom CSS class.

Image Tool

Click on the image icon to change images or add new images to that gallery.

Clicking this icon will access the media selector. Click on the image you want to change to and then click “Add Selected Image” or Upload a new file from your computer.

Crop Tool

Click on the crop tool to adjust the aspect ratio crop of you image. Click save to apply or the x or Cancel to close.

Resize Tool

Click on the outward arrow icon and then use the image box icons to enlarge or shrink the images. Your gallery layout will dynamically shift as you enlarge or shrink images.

Move Tool

Click on the move tool and then drag the current image into the space of other image to swap images.

Link Tool

Click the link tool to set a link on the image and complete the link information. You can link to a Page, Story, Product or External link.

Delete Tool

Click the delete button to remove an image from your gallery.

Gallery Preview

Click preview to view your gallery design. A Gallery must be added to a Page in order for it to appear on your website or in Preview view.

Accessing Galleries

You can access a gallery in multiple ways.


1. Go to the page in Site Flow and click on “Edit Page Content.”

2. Go to Pages and click on “EDIT” on the page bar.

or 3. Go to “Image Galleries” from the menu.

Then click “Layout” on the gallery you want to edit.

Adding Galleries to a Page

Galleries can be added to your pages and there is no limit on the number of images you can add. Keep in mind that lots of images may slow down your page load.

To add a gallery to a page, click on the Gallery tab and then drag in a Gallery component.

Image Gallery (Standard Grid Gallery)

A Standard Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced rows. This type of grid should be used for galleries with images that are the same size or aspect ratio.

Tiled Gallery (Layout Grid Gallery)

A Layout Grid will flow your images into evenly spaced columns. This type of grid will give you the option for same sized images or varying sized images.

Then, select the Gallery name from the pulldown or Enter in a New Gallery Name, Aspect Ratio and set the default give. Then hit Save.

Position the gallery in your page or resize the component to fit your design.

Gallery Preview and Publishing

Preview

Click on Preview to preview the gallery. You will see a Preview Unavailable notice if you haven’t added the gallery to a page. To add the gallery to a page click on Go To Pages, then add the gallery and publish the page.

The linked page icon will appear after you publish to help you navigate between the page and the gallery.

Publish

To publish a gallery click on the Publish Gallery button.
